OpenClaw creator temporarily suspended by Anthropic

Peter Steinberger, the developer of OpenClaw, was temporarily denied access to Claude after Anthropic had classified his activities as suspicious. Only after the incident went viral did his account be reactivated. Anthropic justified more restrictive measures and price changes with the high computing intensity of tools like OpenClaw. These require significantly more resources than simple scripts or commands through continuous reasoning loops, automated task repetitions and links to external tools. However, Steinberger was not very convinced of this justification.
